Age Concern Suffolk and E.on Banishing bedtime horrors

With autumn upon us many older people across Suffolk will be getting out their electric blankets ready for the forthcoming winter. Age Concern Suffolk is keen to assist blanket owners to make sure they are safe as well as warm!

This October Age Concern Suffolk is teaming up with E.on (the company that runs Powergen) to offer free electric blanket testing for people in the Ipswich area.

Helen Taylor , Information Manager from Age Concern Suffolk said “We are pleased to be working with E.on to offer testing at Gatsbys Room, Ipswich Corn Exchange on Wednesday 25 October 2006 . People are invited to book their blankets in for testing then come along and wait whilst they are tested.

“A replacement blanket will be issued free of charge if your blanket fails the test, so this really is an offer worth taking advantage of!” Miss Taylor continued.

Miss Taylor added “Testing is by appointment only and these can be booked by phoning 0845 676 0031 (calls charged at local rate) any time between 8 am and 8 pm , Monday to Friday.”more....

Testing takes place on Wednesday 25 October 2006 at Gatsbys Room Ipswich Town Hall, from 9 am to 4 pm.  We will be testing electric blankets, free of charge.  It is necessary to make an appointment to have your blanket tested by phoning in advance on 0845 676 0031.
